One of the reasons Dan and Ashley chose to have their wedding in California is that it is easy to get to. There are several airports in the area that can make travel as convenient as possible. Santa Barbara is by far less busy and easy to navigate, but here are three they would recommend to get their guest to Oxnard, California.

Santa Barbara (SBA) – Dan & Ashley’s Preference

Santa Barbara Airport is the closest airport to Oxnard. It is about 45 miles away, and you can enjoy scenic views of the pacific coast as you drive south to Oxnard. The following airlines fly out of Santa Barbara: American Eagle, Alaska Airlines, Frontier, United, and US Airways. The only downside is there are no direct flights from Chicago you will likely have a layover in either Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Phoenix. Burbank – Bob Hope (BUR)

Bob Hope Airport in Burbank California is 63 miles from Oxnard. This airport is slightly larger than Santa Barbara, but smaller than LAX.  The following airlines fly out of Burbank:  Alaska Airlines, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, United, and US Airways. As with Santa Barbara there are no direct flights from Chicago, however Southwest has some flights out of Midway where there is no plane change at the layover airport. Los Angeles (LAX)

Los Angeles Airport is further away from Oxnard, it is about 72 miles away. Since LAX is such a large airport there are several airlines and a larger variety of flight times to choose from. Just keep in mind the traffic in LA, on the scouting mission Dan and Ashley and their parents went on, it took them almost 2.5 hours on a Friday morning to get to Oxnard from that area.
